Why this picture is actually HILARIOUS

Because in the lower left hand corner is a little black dog that you can JUST make out.
And the reason you can only just make him out, is because my Dad and I posed him next to the tree in order to try and get reference to its massive size (14 feet in height!), commanded him to stay (which he did because he is wonderful), and then since the room was too dimly lit to capture the beauty of the illuminated tree and the dog as black as night, Dad got out a flashlight and SHINED IT IN HIS FACE from across the room.
Jack sat there patiently smiling for the picture, with a light shining in his face.
Because he is perfect.

That is also why the picture is blurry, because I was laughing and could not hold the iPhone straight.

I hope you have someone in your life patient enough to let you shine your light in their face while you take pictures of them.

Merry Christmas, y'all.

Two things today that really got me

1. Bishops Pledge to Fight Obama on Abortion
and oh my god, I cannot begin to explain how irate this makes me.  How DARE old white catholic men try and dictate what women can or cannot do with their bodies.  How dare they, and how dare they associate pro-choice with evil.

2. Keith Olbermann's Special Comment makes me so proud today.  This is eloquent and wonderful.

Thank you so much.

Dear America,

It has been 4 years since you dissapointed me in ways I never thought possible.  Please don't do it again.
Perhaps it is foolish of me, but I have let myself trust you a little more this time.
I have hope.  Do the right thing buddy,  do the right thing.

I hope we can be friends again.  See you in Grant Park tonight,
NERVOUS WRECK Colleen
